Lucy Ward | Senior Interior Designer

It’s rare to find a true creative who is also diligent and extremely organised, but Lucy is just that. She joined Mi Designer in 2016 and has since established herself as an integral part of the team.

A graduate of the respected Enmore Design Centre in Sydney, and in good company with alumni Greg Natale and Steve Cordony, Lucy has built a solid portfolio of quality design work and a reputation for flawless customer service. Positive client relationships are paramount for this passionate designer. Client’s love Lucy’s attention to detail, her level-headed approach and the fact that she is very prompt with email replies and return phone calls!

Lucy’s favourite part of the design process is the moment of pure creativity when she is developing her initial response to the brief. “I love getting in the creative zone, nutting out the details and putting together a mood board,’ she muses. Her designs expertly employ texture, pattern and natural materials to form dynamic, sensory spaces that appeal to the emotions. Lucy is inspired by the elegance and embellishment of 1920s era design, a classic aesthetic that reflects in all facets of her work.

While Lucy’s designs and personal style are beautifully polished, this creative soul loves kicking back amongst nature, relaxing on the beach with sand between her toes or shredding snowfields across the globe.

  • Lucy’s goal is to craft meaningful spaces that are imbued with emotion and positive experience, by delivering unique and personalised designs that reflect her client’s lifestyle and individual tastes
  • Her main areas of expertise are technical drawings, floor plans, sections, elevations joinery design, colour consultation, hard and soft finishes selection and furniture specification.
  • “I think an interior is successful when you walk in and it makes you feel happy and at ease. At the end of the day, everyone wants to feel happy”

In home decor design, it's recommended to group pieces into three's.

Just like this bedside table, using different textures and colours, shapes and heights add to the look and feel of a perfectly styled vignette.

Do you use the rule of 3 for your bedside table?

Fluted glass!

Who agrees?

We love using fluted glass in our kitchen designs. This gives the kitchen a lighter feel rather than all heavy solid cabinet doors. The fluted design also blurs the contents, so your cupboards can be a little messy and no one can tell!
